Volunteering

Serving others can be one of life’s most fulfilling pursuits.  Our volunteers are at the heart of all we do!

Collectively our volunteers average over 345 hours of service each month.  Volunteers are able to decide where they would like to contribute or they are able to experience each volunteer opportunity and then decide where they would be most comfortable.

In Our Pantry, we rely on our volunteers to help us:

  • Shop, load, transport and unload our food each week
  • Stock and restock our shelves
  • Ensure Board of Health standards are met/exceeded
  • Assist our clients and ensure each is made to feel welcome

In Our Clothing Closet, we rely on our volunteers to help us:

  • Process, organize and hang donations
  • Maintain an orderly and attractive shopping area
  • Assist our clients and ensure each is made to feel welcome

In Our Garden, we rely on our volunteers to help us:

  • Prepare the soil as seasonally directed
  • Plant, water, weed and harvest
  • Maintain an orderly and attractive garden area
  • Support seminars on growing, nutrition, plant uses, etc.

All of our volunteers are asked to read, understand and then sign our volunteer agreement.  This form will be updated and resigned on a yearly basis.

I am always surprised that you seem to have something that is a favorite for each of my kids – it makes things so much easier for me and for them. Thanks!
